The Raspberry Pi 5 uses a new RP1 I/O controller made by Raspberry Pi itself. It has USB 3, which means faster data transfer. Its quad-core processor makes it up to three times faster than the last model, and it can have up to 8GB of RAM. Also, it has PCI Express, letting you connect an M.2 SSD for speedy data transfer and fast booting.
